Description

The Training Course “EU4You” will take place 3rd – 13th December 2019, in Slettestrand, Denmark.

The 11-day Training Course for youth workers is aiming to foster knowledge, understanding and awareness among young people regarding the importance of the EU and to contribute at combating populist movements.

Objectives of the project are:

  • to enhance the knowledge of youth workers participating in the project upon EU’s impact in our daily lives 
  • to enhance critical thinking and media literacy skills of youth workers;
  • to provide youth workers with tools and methods to raise awareness amongst the young people upon the importance of the EU and give them skills to decipher populist message
  • to foster cooperation between European organizations active the youth field in the promotion of the EU awareness and combating Euroscepticism.

Through a non-academic, non-formal programme, the course will give 25 youth workers tools and methods to raise European awareness amongst the young people in their local communities. Among others the participants will:

  • acquire new tools and methods in promoting the EU awareness and EU Citizenship among young people in their daily work
  • acquire methods and best practices to explain the complicated decision-making process of the European Union to young people;
  • acquire methods to strengthen critical thinking and media literacy skills amongst young people;
  • deepen their understanding upon why populism is a dangerous ideology of politics;
  • broaden their network with other colleagues from different European organisations.

The programme will be conducted in English.

Requested trainer profile

The training assistant should:

  • Have at least 2 years experience as a trainer/training assistant
  • Have experience working with Erasmus +
  • Have competence in communicating verbally in English
  • Have a broad interest and knowledge of different social themes
  • Be available and prepared to contrubute to the whole duration of the training

Working conditions

 

This position is considered as an opportunity for an aspiring trainer to build their experience, network and portfolio. 150€ will be offered as an honorarium for support in the whole duration of the training programme (11 days incl arrival and departure). A budget will be provided for travel costs. Food and accommodation will be provided for the duration of the activity.

The training assistant, will among others, have responsibility for the following deliveries:

  • Get to know each other activities and name games
  • Teambuilding activities
  • De-briefs and learning reflections
  • Non-formal method delivery
  • Informal evening activities

 

Team composition

 

The final composition of the team is still to be confirmed.

The training assistant will work alongside a coordinator, trainer and or facilitator, and guest speakers.
